Commentary team announced for Rugby Europe Championship 2021

All men's matches will feature English commentary

Rugby Europe are pleased to announce a full roster of Men’s Rugby Europe Championship 2021 matches that will be broadcast live with English language commentary on Rugby Europe TV throughout every weekend in March. Every match will be free to watch.

The competition also serves as the qualifying tournament for the Rugby World Cup France 2023 where at the end of the 2022 edition the top two teams will directly qualify, while the third ranked team will enter a global qualifier.

The commentary teams assembled bring a wealth of experience to the mic and should enhance the viewers’ enjoyment of the championship. The lead commentators will be Nick Heath (Channel 4, talkSPORT, Sky Sports), Simon Ward (ITV, Sky Sports, DAZN) and Johnnie Hammond (Sky Sports, DAZN, Women’s Rugby Pod) with co-commentary provided by former England centre Tom May, former Scotland scrum-half Rory Lawson, former Commonwealth 7s Wales captain Philippa Tuttiett, and ex-Leeds and England 7s captain Rob Vickerman.

The 2021 Rugby Europe Championship gets underway this Saturday 6th March in Sochi as Russia who finished 5th in the 2020 tournament face Romania who finished 3rd  (local kick off 15:00, UTC 12:00) while in Lisbon, Portugal face Georgia having lost 24-39 in the same fixture last year (local kick off 15:00, UTC 15:00).
