You will notice that things look a little different here as we enter a new chapter of our digital journey.
What you see today is the first version of the new site, built together with our digital agency, Gibe, through understanding and analysing the behaviours and desires of our users.
The basis of the site is firstly to complement and embrace the evolution of a platform that supports a highly mobile audience.
The challenges of the global pandemic has meant that all our competitions have come to a halt for almost a year, with player and supporter safety paramount, has brought its own challenges in launching a website at this time.
However, we are looking forward to when things can return to as close as ‘normal’ as possible and allow our game to restart, and we felt it was an important time to offer you something new.
We’re putting video and content at the heart of what we can provide to you digitally and bringing our competition and those that take part in them a platform to showcase their rugby talent.
Below we’ve highlighted some of the digital elements that you can expect to see in the near future built into our digital roadmap of features and various innovations.
Increased content
We will focus our efforts in delivering increased content as we go forward, we want to be able to shine a spotlight on the good stories and work being done by our unions on our platform to highlight those who make a difference to the Rugby Europe family, as we collectively look forward to when competition is able to return
Downloadable Digital calendar of events
As fixtures and competitions begin to be confirmed as we manoeuvre ourselves through the pandemic, we will be introducing functionality to be able to select the team that you support and download your personalised fixtures to make sure you never miss a match!
Multilingual Site
At the launch of the site, you will see that the current version is English, but as our other official language is also French, a multi-lingual version will be available in the near future.
7s Coverage
You will see that our 7s section is currently under construction as we change the way that we bring out tournament coverage to you. When we are able to announce fixtures and dates, we will be in a position to update these pages with the relevant competitions.
Matchday Coverage
To be able to follow your team as closely as possible, you will see a lot more content around our competition match days and we want to make sure that you can find what you are looking for as easily as possible, whether it be live matches or replays.
Competition Branding and Identity
Along with this, there has also been work undertaking on rebranding our competitions, which you will be able to see going forward.
