After two losses, Norway secured a win in the Rugby Europe men’s Conference event on Saturday with a 58-10 bonus point triumph in Estonia.
Back in October, Norway were defeated by Finland and Latvia in Pool A, but this time they were the team in the ascendancy in Tallinn.
The visitors took the lead in the second minute when winger Stefan Dahle Ortiz bagged a converted try and that set the tone as they were 34-5 up by half-time.
At the start of the second half they scored early too after a good kick set up Dahle Ortiz and he showed good awareness to put full-back Ruairidh Salmon in for a try converted by Axel Montgomery, the centre, which made it 41-5.
It finished 58-10 and Norway outscored their hosts 10 tries to two.
Norway are now fourth in the five-team Pool A with Estonia, now with three losses to their name, at the bottom.
Norway will take on Denmark for the final game of the pool on Saturday afternoon.
The other men’s Conference match on Saturday was in Pool B and it was even more one-sided as Austria turned on the style.
In the Sepp-Doll-Stadion in Krems an der Donau they made it two wins from two with a thumping 117-3 bonus point home triumph over Slovakia.
Winger Thomas Bell scored the first try in the third minute for the home side after a neat move and stand-off Max Karpeles conversion made it 7-0.
By half-time it was 56-3 and, by the end, Austria had scored 17 tries to give them the massive 117-3 victory.
The Austrians, who had beaten Hungary way back in September, finish the season on 10 points from 10 and just behind Ukraine on points difference in the four-team Pool B with Slovakia bottom having lost three from three.
