Club 7s and Beach Finals to take place in Russia

Action-packed September as competitions return

September set to be a busy month for Russia Rugby as they host Beach and Club 7s Championship.

Russia will host two events during the first two weeks of September :

  • Sevens Clubs Championship
  • Rugby Europe Beach Tour Final

After a busy summer schedule of Rugby Europe competitions, rugby will return in September with a bang as two events get underway, hosted the Russian Rugby Union.

The Seven’s Clubs Championships will take place in St Petersburg between 4-5 September with 22 teams taking part to help to continue the development of the club game across the continent.

The teams taking part for the Men’s tournament will be Rugby SK Posnania (POL), Baltrex (LTU), RC Miesnieki  (LAT), VVA Podmoskovie (RUS), ASC Dukla (CZE), Gran Milan 7s - Cus Milano Rugby  (ITA), Zastava-7 (RUS),Samurai RFC (ENG), Switzers Geneva (SUI), Bera Bera RT (ESP), Harugva Minsk (BLR) and RC Akademia (GEO).

The teams taking part for the Women’s tournament will be Firuzkoy Sports Club (TUR), Bilao Zielone Gdansk (POL), LSPA/Livonia (LAT), Medvek RCE (HUN), CSKA (RUS), Neva (RUS), Leman Flames (SUI), Majadahonda (ESP), Black Roses (POL), VVA Podmoskovie (RUS)

The full match schedule will be announced shortly.

The second event will be the Rugby Europe Beach Tour Final in Moscow between 11-12 September, following on from the first tournament of the year in Moldova, where Russia won the women’s event and Croatia were crowned the men’s winners.

There will be two entries from ‘wild card’ teams from the first leg in the two competitions. Georgia and Italy will participate in the men’s competition, while Spain and Turkey are added to the roster for the women’s tournament.
