Rugby Europe Women’s Coaching Academy Concludes a Successful Week in Manchester

Rugby Europe’s Women’s Coaching Academy brought together 15 coaches from across Europe for a focused four-day programme in Manchester designed to strengthen coaching pathways and support the continued growth of the women’s game.

With support from UK Sport through the RFU’s Impact 25 initiative, the Academy featured expert-led sessions, practical workshops, and visits to Sale Sharks, Eccles RFC, and Manchester Metropolitan University. The delivery team — Phil Kearns, Tamara Taylor, Clarissa Jackson-Murphy, Sascha Werlich, Petra Druskovic, Melissa Wright, and Mark Cairns — provided a high-quality learning experience, complemented by guest presenters Carol Isherwood, Giselle Mather, Rachel Taylor, and Claire Cruikshank.

The video below captures key moments, activities, and reflections from the programme.

To further explore the purpose and long-term vision of the Academy, the following videos are also available:

With ongoing mentorship and access to CoachLogic, the cohort is now well placed to continue their development and contribute to the future of women’s rugby across the region.
