Rugby Europe Super Cup - Semi Finals Confirmed

Rugby Europe has confirmed the dates of the two semi-finals in the Rugby Europe Super Cup, the first ever club competition for the emerging rugby unions in Europe.

The competition started back in September 2021, and has seen a mix of professional and franchise teams battling it out for the maiden Rugby Super Cup title, through a round robin phase which was played between September and December 2021.

In the Western Conference, the Lusitanos from Portugal remain unbeaten in their campaign, with only the Castilla y Leon Iberians being the only team to prevent them from a winning bonus point. The Spanish outfit also finished as the runners up of the group and will play Black Lion.

In the Easten Conference, following the suspension of Russian teams from all Rugby Europe competitions, the Black Lion finally topped the group ahead of Tel-Aviv Heat in second place. The Israeli franchise will progress to the semi finals of the competition.

The top two teams of each conference will host the semi-finals in a one off match on the following dates to decide the finalists:

  • Saturday 16 April 2022 - 15.00 Local = Lusitanos vs Tel-Aviv Heat - Lisbon
  • Sunday 17 April 2022 - 18.00 Local = Black Lion vs Castilla Y Leon Iberians - Tbilisi

The final will take place the week-end of May 7-8, 2022 on the soil of the participating team with ther best record from the round robin phase to crown the inaugural winner of the Rugby Europe Super Cup.
