Rugby Europe join the Consultative Committee of the Enlarged Partial Agreement on Sport (EPAS)
Following a decision by the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe on 29 May 2024, Rugby Europe has been admitted as member of the Consultative Committee of the Enlarged Partial Agreement on Sport (EPAS).
The Enlarged Partial Agreement on Sport are composed of three statutory bodies –the Governing Board, the Consultative Committee and the Statutory Committee –all of which strive to implement the programme of activities aimed at making sport more ethical, inclusive and safe.
The Consultative Committee is composed of European sport organisations representing the grassroots sports movement and wider, including international federations, sports bodies, etc.
As member of the Consultative Committee, Rugby Europe will be, together with the 29 other organisations, in a privileged position to contribute to the work of EPAS, fostering dialogue between the members of sports organisations and public authorities.
This appointment emphasises Rugby Europe works in terms of inclusivity, gender balance and good governance promoting rugby development within competitions, training, and education activities.
Octavian Morariu, Rugby Europe President said : “The admission in EPAS is the recognition of all the efforts made for the recent years to modernize our organization and implement key-values present in our sport. We will be committed in promoting and defending inclusivity and good governance practices in the Committee.”
