This weekend Amsterdam prepares to host the culmination of the fifth edition of the Rugby Europe Super Cup, as the top four teams of the 2025–26 season come together at the National Rugby Centre (NRCA).
After an intense pool phase and compelling semi-finals last weekend, the stage is set for the Bronze Final and the Final, showcasing the very best emerging rugby talent from four top nations in Europe.
The Rugby Europe Super Cup was created to provide a clear performance pathway for players, coaches and match officials in our developing and performance unions.

Supported by World Rugby, the competition bridges the gap between domestic rugby and the international game, offering high-quality matches that directly contribute to the preparation of national teams, - particularly for nations targeting qualification for future Rugby World Cups. Over recent seasons, the Super Cup has proven its value as a platform for talent identification, player development and cross-border collaboration
This weekend’s finals will see teams representing the Netherlands, Belgium, Spain and Portugal compete for the honours. The bronze match between Delta (NL) and the Brussels Devils (BE) will open the day at 13:00hrs, followed by what promises to be a thrilling final at 16:00hrs between Castilla y León Iberians (ES) and Lusitanos (PT).
Rugby Europe’s Interim CEO, Jens Skare Neilsen said, “We very much hope that rugby supporters from across the Netherlands and neighbouring countries will make the trip to the NRCA in Amsterdam to experience these unique finals day.
“It is a rare opportunity to see elite young European talent in action on Dutch soil, getting a feel of the intensity of international rugby pathways, and to be part of the continued growth of the game in Europe.
“Events like this are central to Rugby Europe’s mission: strengthening performance, deepening cooperation between unions, and inspiring the next generation of players and fans alike. See you there!”
From the perspective of the hosts, Technical Director of Rugby Netherlands, Jose Gorroxtategi, added “We are delighted to host the Rugby Europe Super Cup Finals this year, it’s the first time the competition has a Bronze and Final at one venue. We’re looking at building something special here in Dutch rugby, not just on the pitch but off it too, and hopefully we can get a few fans from the competing countries in the door to support their teams to create a bit of atmosphere.
"From Rugby Nederland and Delta point of view, we achieved our sport objectives, but also we managed to increase the cooperation and alignment with our clubs. We planned to focus on bringing our most talented domestic youth up by exposing them to high quality matches, and not only feedback from our players has been very positive, our results have also been good.
"The work done in the past years in cooperation with our clubs and academies is paying off. We still have along way to go, but the Rugby Europe Super Cup has become a key competition to get our players closer to the top.”
