Preview: National teams return to the field in busy weekend

After some great Super Cup action over the last three weeks, attention now turns to national competitions.

Rugby Europe menโ€™s Conference 1 South for 2022/23 gets underway with a clash between Slovenia and Cyprus in the Oval Stadium in Ljubljana. The match takes place at 2pm local time (noon UTC).

Last season Slovenia lost all four of their games while Cyprus won just one, so itโ€™s a good chance for someone to get off to a flyer this time around.

Bulgaria, Malta and Bulgaria are the other countries in this competition.

Getting things underway in menโ€™s Conference 2 South for 2022/23 are Bosnia & Herzegovina and Turkey.

Last term Bosnia & Herzegovina won one and drew one out of their four games while Turkey drew one.

Also in this competition this time around are Serbia and Montenegro.

The match between Bosnia & Herzegovina and Turkey takes place in Zenica at 2pm local time (noon UTC) on Saturday.

In the final senior international this weekend, Conference 2 North for 2022/23 begins with Denmark hosting Andorra at 3pm local time (1pm UTC) on Saturday.

The game will be held at Rugby Club Speedโ€™s ground in Copenhagen and Denmark won two and lost one at this level last year.

Finland and Norway are the other countries in this competition.
The menโ€™s under-18 Championship quarter-finals will take place in Georgia on Sunday.

First up at 11am local time (7am UTC) is Portugal versus Germany in the Nutsubidze Rugby Stadium.

Then one hour and 45 minutes later in the Rustavi Kharebi Arena, Spain take on Romania.

In the same stadium as Spain-Romania at 2.30pm local time (10.30am UTC) Belgium and the Netherlands meet.

Then at 4.15 pm local time (12.15pm UTC) the host nation take on Czechia to round things off.
