Details for the fourth edition of the Rugby Europe Super Cup have been confirmed with a new format and six teams taking part.
The competition, which is supported by World Rugby, will consist of a single pool and will be in round-robin format, with the final top four of the pool moving to the semi-final stage. The pool phase will take place from October to December with three rounds in October and two in December. The semi-finals will take place of the weekend January 17-18 before the finals a week later January 24-25.
This format will remain in place for two seasons.
The competition will provide an excellent pathway towards the preparation of the national teams already qualified for the Rugby World Cup 2027 or willing to qualify for future editions.
The six teams that have been selected have all taken part in recent years and will be the Bohemia Warriors (Czechia), Brussels Devils (Belgium), Delta (Netherlands), Castilla y Leon Iberians (Spain), Lusitanos (Portugal) and Romanian Wolves (Romania).
The competition has been recognized as a vital pathway of improving the player pool of the participating teams in their respective countries and will allow the coaching teams to further develop the performance pathway.
