This season will be the first year that the women’s competition will be played with four teams, with the promotion of Portugal, who will join the Netherlands, Sweden and Champions, Spain.
The tournament will be a round-robin format, as has been the case over previous seasons.
Sweden, who joined the Championship last season will begin the season with a match against last year’s runners up, the Netherlands, with Portugal in action the following week. Spain will feature in the final three games of the competition, hosting their first game in Sitges and finishing off on the road against Sweden.

Exact details regarding kick off times, venues and ticket details will be announced once confirmed by the host unions.
Every game will be streamed live on the rugbyeurope.tv and with our various partners, with more details on the associated broadcast partners being announced closer to the start of the competition.
Due to the continuing challenging financial climate for all our unions and the promotion of Portugal to Championship level, there will be no Women's Trophy competition this season.
Rugby Europe would still encourage teams to continue playing in some capacity and wherever Test matches can be arranged, we will of course support and they can take part under the guise of Rugby Europe.
As ever, we will have live clipping throughout the competition and stats, brought to you by Oval Insights.
