Russia wins a second title in a row in French Leg

Traditional tournament in Malemort took place this week-end in the small town located in the center of France. This year, Malemort is the first leg of Women's Sevens Grand Prix Series, instead of Kazan that will close the season and celebrate Champion of the year.

Played under a searing heat, the twelve teams compete for the 2017 title but also for the qualification for 2018 Sevens Rugby World Cup to be played in San Francisco (July)

All teams wanted to contest Russia, title-holder, but nobody could resist to the "Bears" - defeating six different teams in the tournament to claim a second title in a row.

France, host team could have done it, losing the final by a single point but spent all the game to fill the gap, ending this first leg as runner-up.

Ireland performed in the competition winning twice on England but losing against France in Semi-finals

Sweden, new promoted nation, won its first Challenge Trophy, defeating a convincing Poland (promoted too).
