IRELAND claims 2017 Moscow sevens Crown

Ireland claims Moscow Title in its first Rugby Europe Sevens Grand Prix Series

 

Ireland was the new team in Rugby Europe Sevens Grand Prix Series 2017, as promoted from Trophy 2016 competition. 

For a first participation, players performed defeating the best European nations in the different stages of the competition. 

After defeating the title-holder, Russia in a tight semi-final (28-21), they faced Spain in Final. The "Leones" monopilized the ball for the first minutes, but failed in reaching goal-area, whereas Ireland scored a first try by Fionn Carr assisted by Jordan Conroy before half-time. They scored twice at the beginning of second half by Ian Fitzpatrick after a long run of Harry McNulty. They preserved this advance until the end, despite several unsuccessful attempts of the Spanish team.
