DATES CONFIRMED FOR LAST ROUND OF 2020 RUGBY EUROPE CHAMPIONSHI

Rugby Europe has today announced the dates for the postponed fixtures of the Rugby Europe Championship 2020.

Following the COVID-19 pandemic, the last round of the competition could not take place in March. After consultation with the unions, the schedule of the final games will be as follows:

  • Romania v Belgium on November 1st (Venue and KO time to be announced)
  • Georgia v Russia on November 1st (Venue and KO time to be announced)
  • Spain v Portugal on November 15th (12h45 CET in Madrid)

 

The play-off match will be between the Netherlands (Rugby Europe Trophy winners)  and the bottom ranked team in the 2020 Rugby Europe Championship. 

This game will be played on November 14th or 15th at the ground of the Rugby Europe Championship team. 

The final standings of these games will define the participants and confirm the schedule for the 2023 Rugby World Cup Qualifiers. The Rugby Europe Championship will offer two direct qualification places for the top two teams in March 2022, with the third best team going to the final qualification repechage.
